Camp Severn is aimed at the little folk aged  3 -13. That's not to say that older kids wont enjoy it as we have plenty to keep them entertained like the shows but the primary target is the little ones. All Children under  will require a ticket (free of charge) and proof of age may be required (excluding babies in arms). 
Camp Severn is at West Mid Showground is a peaceful family friendly site on the banks of the mighty River Severn in the heart of Shrewsbury Town Centre.  Shrewsbury sights, restaurants and shops within 15 minutes' walk and just half an hour from Ironbridge Gorge and the Shropshire Hills. This site is in the centre of it all whilst retaining it's country charm.

YES, with your weekend ticket camping is included but optional!


The short answer is all children's activities,  shows, camping etc!
There are certain attractions such as the fun fair, inflatables and monster truck rides which will be limited using tickets. This is simply to keep it fair to all children so all children get to have a go. We want all of the children to be able to experience all that we have on offer without the stress of queues so the best way to avoid this is to have these attractions particular ticketed.
Products, drinks and food are not included in your ticket. Some activities may require you to book in a time slot and return later. Tickets also include goody bags for parents and children.



Yes of course most of the activities are undercover! We have indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy so simply throw your wellies on! It's like Glastonbury for kids, mud, rain, who cares as it's all about fun! 
All bars and food vendors will have contactless payment available.


The safety of all children is the priority, children must always be supervised. Adults will only gain access with a child in their party and all children must be accompanied by an adult to gain entry.

We request that you write an emergency contact number for your child on their wristband so that in the unlikely event that you become separated then we can contact you.

Camp Severn - Kids Festival has official photographers and videographers on site, capturing imagery and footage that may be for promotion purposes on the internet. The event photographers will be wearing official lanyards and uniform. If your child cannot be photographed, we will provide an separate wristband for your child to wear. All information on how to get one of these will be provided in your welcome pack. Those with day tickets can request a wristband from pay booth on the main gate.

Camp Severn - Day Tickets 

We will have onsite vendors selling both food and drink however, you are welcome to bring your own food on site if required and we will have dedicated areas for families to enjoy picnic's. Alcohol is not allowed on site unless purchased from our onsite bar. Adults must drink responsibly and challenge 25 will be in operation. 
Yes! There are paths all around the showground and ramps into all buildings. There are also disabled toilets and showers for those camping. 
Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase. Visitors are welcome to sell their tickets on before the event.

  • Cancellation: If an event for which you have purchased Tickets is cancelled in full (and not rescheduled), your order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded the Sale Price of your Tickets. If you have purchased Tickets or Packages for an event takes place over several days and one or more days (but not all days) are cancelled, you may only be offered a proportionate partial refund.
  • Rescheduling: If an event for which you have purchased Tickets is rescheduled, Tickets will be valid for the new date (or you will be offered Tickets of a value corresponding with your original Tickets for the rescheduled event, subject to availability). If you notify us within the specified deadline that you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be able to cancel your order and obtain a refund of the Sale Price of your Tickets or Packages (Service Charges and Order Processing Fees are non-refundable). If we do not specify a deadline, the deadline by default will be 48 hours before the date of the rescheduled event. Failure to notify us by the applicable deadline that you are unable to attend the rescheduled event will be deemed to be a reconfirmation of your order for Tickets or Packages for the rescheduled event, and you will not be able to claim a refund. 


Gates will be open from 10:00 - 22:00. All campers are to arrive at Gate Two where will be directed you to your pitch. Please note that after 18:00, the gates will be locked but there will be a number to call to gain access.
Live in Vehicles are more than welcome. 
West Mid Showground is a well established camp site. All of the following are available:
  • Disabled facilities – At the end of the Berwick Club building next to Camp Severn sign.
  • Dog park (field opposite Gate one).
  • Food and Bar located in The Berwick Club and Pirates Island.
  • Free wifi
  • Laundry area – A Washing machine’s are situated in the building to your left as you drive through Gate Two.
  • Parent & baby washroom.
  • Toilets & Showers - Toilets and Showers are in the blocks against the road (to the right as you drive through the main gate) and are easily identified. Follow signs.
  • Washing-up area - A Wash up Area are situated in the building to your left as you drive through Gate Two.
  • Elsan Points- Waste disposal points are situated at each of the men’s and ladies toilet/shower block.
  • Drinking water - location points are marked with blue and white checkered flags.

No, you will need to bring and bring your own tent, caravan, motorhome or camper. 
Well behaved dogs are more than welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. There is a maximum of 3 dogs per pitch. They must be kept under proper control at all times. Any fouling must be collected and disposed of immediately in the designated dog waste bins. All traces of their presence must be removed before you leave. There is a designated dog walking area opposite the showground. 
Yes you can. This is for your convenience but please be aware that there is a strict 5 MPH speed limit on the showground and no movement between the hours of 10:00 - 16:30.
If you know that you will need to leave during those hours then we simply ask you to park in the public car park opposite before 10:00. 
Yes. Please respect the fact that this is a children's event therefore, safety is absolutely paramount. We will not have any movement of cars between 10:00 - 16:30. If you know that you will need to move your car during those then we ask that you move your car and park it in the public car park before the restrictions are imposed. We allow cars to be parked on your pitch for your convenience so we kindly is that this rule is respected. Gates will be locked and not opened in camping areas between those times.
There will be a 5 MPH speed limit on the showground at all times so please respect this. 
Camp fires are strictly forbidden other than those arranged and controlled by the organiser.  We will have 'story time' with Professor Elmo & Professor Panic around a camp fire  every evening at 21:00 to complete the camping experience! Small above ground BBQ's are permitted.
Yes  there are dedicated elsan points around the showground. These are clearly signposted.  There are also onsite toilets and showers located all around the site to use.    
No bulky items should be disposed in the elsan points (e.g. Nappies, wet wipes) as these damage the sewage pumping systems. These items should be disposed of in the refuse bins provided.
The Festival does not rent caravans to ticket holders, or have any arrangements with contractors to rent caravans.
Yes awnings can be put up under manufacturers instructions. 
No. Absolutely no generators are to be brought on site.
You can bring 220g camping gas canister and one spare. Caravans / campervans can bring one spare gas canister the size that your vehicle holds
Ample bins are provided on site so we ask you very kindly to respect our land by making sure you put rubbish in the bins provided.  
A family Festival Ticket covers two adults and two children.

Yes you are welcome to arrive Saturday morning between 7:00 - 9:45. Anyone arriving after that time will be asked to park in the car parking field opposite until 16:00 when you can then be taken to your pitch. This is to restrict vehicle movement during the busy times for the safety of the children.
